This is an activity that can be done in a small group or independently at a center or workshop. The students sort the CVC picture cards by the vowel sound they hear. Then they use a recording sheet to write their answers down. There are several recording sheets to allow for differentiation. Some of the recording sheets have all five vowels listed, on others you choose which vowels they will sort. Some of them incorporate writing a sentence and one incorporates rhyming words. There are 18 cards to sort. This is an original activity created by Denise Scaccia.
