As teachers, we're always telling parents that their children should read for twenty to thirty minutes a day. They hear the mantra, but they don't fully grasp the implications of NOT "putting in the time" until they see this powerful testament. With this PowerPoint Presentation, (and take-away handoutthat summarizes the PP) parents will clearly see how those 20-30 minutes add up by examining "Child A" vs. "Child B." I've used this hundreds of times as I presented my Reluctant Reader: Squash the Resistance Workshop in schools, public and private libraries. Parents FINALLY get it. Use for BTSN, to play while parents are waiting at conferences, Staff Meetings, PTO Meetings, etc. Administrators LOVE it. The handout was previously offered as a limited freebie and downloaded hundreds of times. It received fantastic feedback!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I am currently teaching first grade and LOVE it! This is my 10th year with first graders. I've also taught second grade for two years and was a media specialist for nine years. I am a children's author and have published with Scholastic, ABDO/Magic Wagon, Enslow, Carson-Dellosa and Instructor.
