This all encompassing 67 page packet can be used with any Ramona Quimby book. The printable packet includes comprehension, vocabulary, word work, creative thinking and critical thinking activities with the Ramona Quimby theme.
The comprehension strategies include predicting, summarizing, sequencing, making connections, questioning, compare/contrast, picture walk, cause/effect and much more. Word work consists of nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prefixes, similes, verb tenses, quotations, syllabication, book titles and common and proper nouns. Other activities include characterization, setting, story map, categorizing, a Mad Lib and journal writing. A wide assortment of graphic organizers for vocabulary work and comprehension strategies are included.
This packet is designed for you to choose the worksheets you would like to use with your students. It can be used with the whole class, small groups and/or individual students. TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Subject Area:
I am a retired 3rd grade teacher with 30 years teaching experience. I have written two books based on language arts and math activities. My other experiences include teaching continuing education online courses for several universities and PBS TeacherLine. These courses are specifically designed for teachers. I have also taught summer school for elementary students and adults. I have given workshops on topics such as Teaching Tools on the Net, Lively Language, How to Write Book Reports and creative writing. I currently teach student teachers at our local university.
