Random Number Place Value helps students recognize the value of numbers in a way that's unpredictable and fun. Students will be engaged in this approach on visual and tactile/kinesthetic levels. Random Number Place Value starts out with the very basic Tens and Ones (units). Students can easily recognize the value of each group of tens and ones. I simply touch the Random Number Generator and then students then match that number dragging groups of tens over to the tens place and ones over to the ones place. The group of tens and ones are infinitely cloned so students do not have to copy and paste. After the number is made you can select all the tens and ones with your finger on the board...as you would with a mouse by selecting all in a group. Then, select Edit in the Smartboard menu and click on Cut. The group of tens and ones will be deleted and then you may select another random number on the Random Number Generator. There are a total of 5 pages. The next two pages help engage students to make numbers using Hundreds, Tens and Ones. Students can make even larger numbers on the last two pages where numbers range from 1000-9999.

Hi,
Great idea, sadly the concept of Random Number Generator does not apply to the Promethean Activboard so I had to do a fair amount of re-editing to make this a viable product for my use. The clothespin file doesn't work either :(
It does give me some ideas to create some of my own so for that I am grateful.

I am not sure how the licensing works on this site. I am guessing that you would be able to send the file to your coworker to download via email or just using a USB to drag the file onto his/her desktop. :)
