I use this each quarter, making it harder as the year goes on, so I am often revising/tweaking the rubric. I have the students staple the rubric to the front cover of their notebook and the questions to the back cover. GREAT for after "Read to Self" and "Read to Someone" in Daily 5...students can work together and respond to their reading. We also bring it to the carpet during read aloud. This keeps the students engaged in their reading and focused on listening. They respond during or after our read aloud, and we always leave time at the end of class to share or model great writing responses/thinking! :)
