Create your own comprehension spinner for your students to use during or after reading a story. These spinners are a fun, simple, and easy tool for kids to use and meet requirements from the new common core standards for telling about a story.

Just copy, mount on tag board, laminate, and attach a spinner and you are ready to roll! The spinner covers main characters, "what would you do if you were a main character?", setting, main idea, problem/solution, important details, and ending of the story.

Hi there,

I tried printing your Carnival Comprehension activity and when the wheel came out the words were blacked out. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi there,
I'm sorry you are having trouble. Are you opening the document in 'Preview' on a Mac? If you are, then open it with the Adobe program, not preview. You should also be able to print from a Windows machine. Let me know! Sorry!

Hello

This looks like something my class would LOVE.
I downloaded to my mac book but the text shows up as a blurry bar. I have had this problem with a few sellers but they were able to fix the file somehow. Any chance you know what I'm talking about?

Do you have a mac? If so, You need to open in the Adobe program, not in the preview option. You may also need to update your Adobe to the newest version. If you have access to a Windows machine, you shouldn't have trouble either. Let me know if you have any other problems.

I just downloaded your reading comprehension spinner and all the words were a black blurry mess. This has happened to me a couple of other times with different sellers. Any idea why or how I can fix it?
Thanks,
Susan Crabb

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for 25 years. I have taught kindergarten and 1st grade...then began to loop with 2nd and 3rd graders. I absolutely loved looping! It was so exciting to watch the growth in those little buggers over a two year period....and talk about getting attached! Those little people, their families and I became very close. We stopped looping a few years ago when we changed principals. I'm trying to talk my new principal into letting me team teach with a friend....we just want to knock out one of the walls!
