These bookmarks serve as a reminder of the strategies that students should be working on during their reading. After the child's goal has been determined, it should be written in one of the boxes on the bookmark. After the teacher has witnessed the child employing the goal on 3 occasions, the goal can be checked off (in the smaller box on the right)and a new goal written. Students' confidence is increased as they see the goals being checked off. These bookmarks are a great way of monitoring and documenting reading growth! They can also be sent home to keep parents abreast.
