Many parents want to help their beginning readers! They often ask their child's teacher for suggestions on ways they can help their little readers. I have created this Reading Guide to give the parents some "tools" for helping their children who are learning to read.
This file contains a teacher's notes page, a 10 page guide that explains the basic reading strategies (supported with photos), and 2 pages of guidelines for parents to use when working with their children.
The pages can be printed full sized OR select a print option to "print 2 pages per sheet" and the guide can be folded and bound into a booklet.
Send this home with your students after you have introduced the basic reading strategies and the parents can support their little readers at home!
Reading strategy posters for your classroom are also be available in my TPT store. The posters are a companion to the guide.

Aw, that makes my day!! It was a labor of love and will always remind me of how reading is not always an easy journey. After many notes and discussions I am still amazed at how many parents do not know how to read with their child. This is clear and easy to read. I am actually going to include it in with my report cards as a 'Ways to Support at Home' document. Love it!

I'm sorry you were disappointed in the reading guide. The parents of my students have really appreciated the booklets and use them throughout the year when helping their children. I spent a lot of time creating the reading guide and priced it based the time required to put it all together.

This product is going to replace one that I have used for many years. I love the real photos of mom and child working together. I love the clear directions and explainations.
