Reading comprehension is a complex combination of reading strategies. It is complex to teach an even more complex to assess, but it is also vital to lay a solid comprehension base with primary students. This reading journal makes it simple!

I currently teach a mixed age class of 3rd and 4th graders at the International School of Morocco. Previously, I have taught 1st grade and 3rd grade, as well as teaching all grade levels in the computer lab at a Title I school in Georgia. I have taught both high income and low-income school students, and find that no matter where I teach, most kids need to look at every problem from 12 different angles. Although it is challenging, it is also incredibly rewarding.
