If you are attempting Reading Workshop for the first time or are looking for an interactive yet structured way to conduct Reading Workshop then this product could be what you are looking for!
This product contains the first two lessons which can be used over a week of Reading Workshop lessons. Each lesson is contained in it's own .zip file.
There is a power point and a PDF for introducing to the kids and then easy printing of key pages.
The first .zip power point introduces the students to analyzing characters, provides character traits to refer back to, a practice story and strategies, and then a student skill sheet that can be printed front and back for the students to use as they are doing their independent reading.
Uses colorful and kid-friendly visuals!

The second .zip contains another product in the Reading Workshop Series, this lesson focuses on finding the proof to support your answers.
Consists of:

2. Brief Power Point focus lesson
3. Who, what, when, why, how cloud activity
4. Student Skill Sheets for use during independent reading time
5. Evaluation and Review sheet for use as a student summarizing tool over reading and strategies used.
Also includes 5 question higher level thinking quick check quiz to check comprehension.

This is my 7th year teaching the 5th grade. I have been lucky enough to work in the most amazing campus. I teach reading in a departmentalized campus in the upper elementary grades and I am enjoying it! Reading is a passion of mine!
