I give my students real-life examples, such as menus and fliers, to help prepare them for some of the "passages" and questions they'll encounter on the ELA Test.

Pair up your students and have them answer these questions based on the menu from Crumbs Bake Shop. Then, have them be the test-makers by creating their own multiple choice questions (three of the answer choices must be logical and require the process of elimination). Finally, students swap and answer each other's test questions.
