This is a great and motivating real-world persuasive writing assignment where students get to pick their topics and write on real-world issues to real people. This lesson includes the assignment (as shown in the preview), an outline students use to write their essay, and a due dates outline for the student to submit to the teacher at given intervals. (I usually use the due dates handout to keep students on track and it works well.)
