Be the detective and Follow the Clues! There are 36 items for your students to guess (6 cards on 6 pages). For each item, the student is given 5 clues, ranging from vague to more specific.
For example, for Dog:
5. It’s an animal
4. It’s a kind of pet
3. It might live in your house
2. It wears a collar
1. It barks.
There are also 36 answer cards included if you wish to provide foils for your students.
To play, the teacher holds cards and draws one for each student or team. Teacher reads aloud the clues, one at a time, beginning with number 5. If a student/team guesses the correct answer on the first clue, they get 5 points. If they guess the answer on the 2nd clue (after reading the #4 clue), they get 4 points, and so on. The student/team with the most points at the end of the game is the winner.
You also get a game board (which you can download for FREE by downloading the Preview) to use with the game or as an open ended activity. There are blank cards as well so that you can expand the activity by including your own vocabulary and a scoring sheet if you choose to count points.
Thank you for the feedback! I hope the kids like the activity!

I just used this game a with a group of 2nd grade boys a couple of days ago- AWESOME!! The pictures were adorable, the inferences just right, and the children were involved and engaged throughout the session. What more could I ask for? Thank you!
I even have a magnifying glass to go with this game! Speech detectives here we come! Thanks for creating this fun activity and sharing your creativity with us!
