This volume contains 5 no-cook recipes presented as reading comprehension passages. Each passage contains a recipe and short reading selection, as well as 5 to 6 comprehension questions associated with it. Students are to read the passage, prepare the snack item with minimal teacher assistance, and answer the questions. Recipes include: Treasure Chest Cake,Banana Roll "Sushi", Edible Rainbow, Lincoln's Log Cabin, and Cherry Blossoms. Written at a 2nd to 3rd grade reading level, these activities are great for regular and special education students in grades 2 through 6. They are also appropriate for middle and high school students in life skills classes. Each recipe is also available individually through my Techers Pay Teachers store. This collection is available as a bundled package with my other "Recipes for Reading" products. The bundled package contains 27 recipe passages. 12 pages. By Rebecca Bettis

I have been a special education teacher since 1998. I currently teach a self-contained cross categorical class of 3rd through 5th graders. I have also taught k-6 resource classes and self-contained classes in the past. I currently teach in North Carolina, but I taught for 4 years in Texas.
