This activity uses a quick review of the Civil War to introduce the chaos and confusion created by the Civil War. Students then judge 11 events of Reconstruction to note on thier "Road Notes" to progress toward full citizenship for African Americans. Images are provided for each event and a bellringer and exit slip are included to start and stop activity. Also includes an experiential exercise where students are asked to examine having and losing rights.
