This flipbook is an engaging way for students to take notes about ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle. Students find this method much more interesting than traditional paper and pencil, even though it is still paper, merely folded and cut! It could also be used as an assessment after students have completed a lesson about ways to help the environment.

Students lift the flap under each word to write the definition and some examples. A version of the flipbook with definitions already filled in is also included.

It is perfect for Earth Day or any day!

I have taught 4th grade in Maryland for 8 years and 5th grade for 1 year. For manyyears, I was departmentalized teaching only Reading/Language Arts and Science. I actually enjoyed teaching grammar and learning about/using the 6+1 Trait method for writing. I also spent 2 years as a science resource teacher working with teachers and students in all elementary grades.
