Northeast Region, Regions of the United States
This is a map study guide. This one-page Study Guide is to help your students learn to label the Northeast states on a map. Study guide now also includes an optional page for the state capitals and the state abbreviations.
This is an activity that goes along with my resource, The Northeast Region.
"The Northeast Region" is a 6-page packet that can be used as a "textbook chapter" when teaching about the five regions of the United States. In the "Northeast Region" packet, your students will learn about the land, water, climate, products, natural resources, landmarks, and culture of the Northeast.
Because the United States can be divided into regions in many ways, please check to see if this version matches your standards. My materials marked “Five Regions”
have the states divided this way:
“Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia
“Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont
“Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin
“Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas
Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming
If this version doesn’t match what you need, check my other listings for materials marked Four Regions.
While these materials were written to correspond to Florida's Next Generation Sunshine State Standards for 3rd grade Social Studies when I couldn't find anything else appropriate for my students, regions units are also perfect for 4th, 5th, or 6th graders studying the five regions of the United States.
