When they hear the word rubia, many students of Spanish think red and thus redhead. This poster is designed to steer them toward the correct translation. The poster employs two proven techniques for internalizing new information: visual cues and scaffolding (In this case, building a bridge between a known English word and the sound of a new Spanish word.) The 18 x 22 inch format can be adapted using the Publisher program. (Hint: I added glittery red buttons to the crown on my poster for an even more memorable visual image.)
Thanks for your feedback. I have noticed students referring to the poster for a reminder. And besides being helpful to them, this project was fun to make!
