This is an excellent activity to leave for a sub. The film is entitled, "Mel Gibson Goes back to School." Obviously, you need to have the film available. I like to use it after my students have read "Hamlet," and leave it as a substitute activity. It's so easy for the sub, but, at the same time the kids know they need to produce a written review when you get back to class.
Another plus is that it's easy to grade. Like several of my plans, i.e. "The Crucible" love letter, the "Soylent Green" activity or the "Alternate Review" exercise, there is roughly a ten-point scale. If the students include all ten components, they have accomplished the assignment.
