A kindergarten game for practicing sight words! This game can be played in pairs or teams, used as a literacy center, during indoor recess, or you can use in in many other ways! Students have fun while practicing their sight words with a fun, froggy-themed game!
Students take turns drawing out a froggy sight word card from the "pond". If they can read the word, they keep the card. If they can't read the word, and the other student can, the other student keeps the card. Anytime a student draws a "RIBBIT!" card, all of their frogs hop back into the pond. Once all the cards have been drawn, the student with the most froggies in their bag wins!
This set is Kindergarten Set #1, based on Dolch words. More to come!

I have frogs as a theme so these are perfect. I like it because it is not tied to a seasonal theme - I can use them anytime.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Subject Area:
Before coming to Maryland, where I currently teach grades K-5, focusing mostly on 2nd and 4th, I was in North Carolina teaching ESL Language Arts primarily to grades 6-8. While working on my MS in ESL Education at the University of Tennessee, I did student teaching with grades K-8 in Sevierville, TN. I have also been invited to Busan, S. Korea, twice to conduct 2 week teacher training seminars on Content Based English Instruction for English language learners, and I am SIOP trained as well. In addition to my MS, I also have a degree in Spanish and Mass Communications.
