This unit of study takes your students through a discovery of rocks and minerals. Students work in teams of geologists as they make observations about the properties of rocks. Technology is integrated through various websites that share information on rocks and on soil. Most of these lessons can be done independently or with teams or partners as the students use the Internet to find information on topics. Discovery Education is also used to secure concepts and add depth to content.
* National Geographic Science was used as a reference for this unit of study.

Haven't used this with my class yet. Was a little disappointed to see there were only two words that had the photographs with them. This was the main reason I bought this package.
Will add this to my "stuff" on Rocks and Minerals... half my class ( I have a combined grade classroom) did this unit last year with me, so I have to find a different way to present it... new materials help! Thanks!
You are very welcome. Hope you like it! I am working on a weather unit to go with the National Geographic science series. Be on the look out if you are interested. :)

This looks to be a good match to the Vermont Grade Expectations for 4th grade. I'm wondering if you would send me a Table of Contents with the names of the activities and just a simple sentence about each activity?
