This file is a 16 page download of my Roll a Story Center. It is perfect for independent writing in your writing center or in small groups. It is a super simple activity. This file comes with a directions page, and editing cube template, cube recording sheet, & 2 writing sheets. You will also find 3 setting cubes, 3 action cubes, and 3 ending cubes.
It is pretty basic. Students grab the cubes you set out. I choose 1 setting cube, 2 action cubes, and 2 ending cubes. They roll the cubes once and record their rolls with words and pictures. The then number their pictures in the order they will use them in their story. The students then write their story. Upon completion, they head to the writing center to grab an editing cube. I have them roll 3 times and make 3 edits. I then ask them to head off and read their story into a whisper phone or to a friend.
