Here is a fun, hands-on activity to introduce subtraction with primary children! Children use plastic counting bears (or copies of the ones provided) to place bears in the tub. As they take bears out of the tub, they put words to their actions and practice subtraction facts. Once they have had the fun of physically moving the bears in and out of the tub and saying the math facts, they will choose a math fact to illustrate on the tub mat. What could be more fun!
