Save yourself some work and a lot of time by using this very aligned practice STAAR test!
I wrote this practice 4th Grade STAAR Assessment using the blueprint posted by TEA and all known information about the test to this point.
65% of the test is on readiness standards and 35% is over supporting standards as designated by the state of Texas. There is also a detailed item analysis included with answer key; therefore, you can use the test to collect data in an easier way.
I worked to create a test, increasing the rigor by using bigger numbers, increasing the use of multi-step problems, and thinking outside the box for the student expectations that are going to be heavily tested indepthly. This assessment is the perfect combination of questions, and is written with a realistic expectation of what most students should be able to master by the end of 4th grade.
I have also posted practice tests for 3rd and 5th grade. Please pass the word to your friends, if you like what you see. If you have any suggestions for making it even better, I will modify it as well as we learn more about this new assessment.

Great Job! I really love your work. Would you consider making more specific type of reviews for next year? (Just focusing in on one topic) For example, after teaching decimals I would love to have some pages that are (all) decimals. (Formatted like the STAAR questions on your reviews) I love your reviews, but I want to save them to use before the test next year. I would love to see new items that I could use throughout the year that are topic specific. Thanks!

These practice tests took me many many hours! :) I have some topic specific assessments, but I need to work on updating them before posting. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I love your stuff! I teach 4th grade in Texas and did not have the resources in my classroom to create problems like would be on the STAAR. TEACHING EXPERIENCE

My husband and I have a combined total of 26 years of experience in education. I have 15 years education experience ranging from 1st - 5th grade in all subject areas, but my love is creating math materials for elementary school. I have been a math facilitator for the past 5 years at a Title I school in Texas where I have learned the importance of assessing students at the level of rigor needed to increase student achievement. Writing assessments is my expertise. My husband has been teaching high school Algebra, Algebra II, and PreCal for the past 13 years helping to increase Algebra scores from 40% to 80% in some sub population groups. We love the opportunity to share what we have created to help students be more successful.
