You can use this fact sheet and chart for state research projects with your students. There are 10 questions which students answer about a particular state. Then there is a chart on which students can draw the state flower, bird, tree, etc.
This makes a great pre-requisite to assigning any type of state project (poster, diorama, etc.)or it can just stand alone.

I have taught for 36 years at the 3rd, 5th, and 6th grade levels. Fifth grade is my first love. I teach all major subject areas.
