This unique activity reviews maps and graphing while tasting breads from around the world.
Students locate country on map and color, then taste bread from that country. For example, locate Ireland then color in country. Next taste Irish Soda Bread. There are six countries to locate and six breads to eat! The boys love this activity.
Next students ask 12 friends what their favorite bread is and record on bar graph. Next bar graph is turned into a tally graph. There are two pages of questions. No two graphs are the same so there is no copying possible.
There is also a song about the seven continents.
So eat then graph and review map skills all in the same activity.
This is a real change from the typical St. Patrick's Day activities.
However, this activity can be done on anyday of the year.
I love this. I just began teaching map skills and will use this as a fun culminating activity the Friday before St. Patrick's Day. Thanks so much for sharing.
