This fun file has 59 pages of comic book goodness...
There are actually TWO zipped files in here- both of them have 59 pages.
One file has over 30 comic pages with either 4 or 6 dialog boxes and ONE character so that students can add their own character and then dialog.
The second file is the same but with TWO characters so that, for students who need more scaffolding, they just have to add the dialog.
Characters range from something for every holiday to farm, people from a galaxy far far away, dinos, and sports!
These blank comics are a GREAT way to assign or assess on a topic... for example, in math, students could explain how to solve a problem through the dialog in their comic. In language arts, students could write creatively in their dialog but be assigned to include and underline 3 proper nouns in the dialog. Or use spelling words, contractions, verbs...
In science, they can explain a process or an outcome and in social studies students could write about a historical event, share a point of view, or have a conversation with a historical figure.
The possibilities are ENDLESS and it's all up to you!
I love that students can be creative while still having to think critically about how to craft the dialog to showcase their learning!

Love. Why did I not think of this? I probably have most of the clip art already. Anyway. Can't wait to see what the kids come up with. And when some of my teachers (I am the school librarian) see the kids actually writing? They might be less reticent to accept graphic novels for reading choices!
