Explore the world of Scholarly Pursuits with this 13 slide presentation introducing students to the concepts based on Sandra Kaplan's research in gifted education. Scholarly Pursuits are often used in the field of gifted education, yet are extremely helpful to all students, especially those lacking many models of successful student-learner behavior.
This presentation is intended as a beginning of school year activity designed to engage students as active participants in their learning. This presentation would also serve as an every so often reminder/refreshing activity throughout the year.

Each slide has 2 or 3 open ended questions for classroom discussion, see preview slides for examples. This presentation is sold as is, and can be combined with several of our other activities to bring the Scholarly Pursuits into the classroom (currently classroom posters, coordinate graphing, and wordsearch, but may increase in the future).

I used this at the beginning of the school year for goal setting with my gifted students in grades 3-6. It worked out great! We even wrote our class motto about working hard to be more like the scholar. Thanks for a great product!
