This is a worksheet I use for every Science lesson. There are spaces on the front to list the vocabulary words, draw a picture for the word, and the definition of the word. If the page is folded lengthwise, it can be used like flashcards for studying. The back of the worksheet asks the student questions which walk the student through previewing the lesson. It asks students to list previous knowledge of the topic, preview the subtitles, copy a caption, and predict the main idea of the lesson. It has been very successful in teaching my students how to preview nonfiction textbook material.
