Hi! I tried to save this document to my computer, but it prompted for a password when I tried to save. I am using a MAC computer...not sure if that is the problem!
Thanks!!

I teach second grade. Our next unit in Science is Earth's Resources. Do you have a unit for that?

The unit I have on natural resources may be above second grade for your state standards. It addresses the types of resources, alternative energy, and fossil fuels. That is the only product I have on this topic. Good luck!

These are wonderful resources! I have purchased all of your Earth science units and cannot wait to implement them this year! Do you have plans for any other Earth science units? I teach 6th grade in Georgia, and it is strictly Earth science.

I don't have immediate plans for any other Earth Science units at the moment other than water cycle. I am working on some life science and physical science units right now. What topics do you teach for 6th in Georgia? You can email me at thesciencepenguin@yahoo.com. Thanks!

Do you think your science weekly five would work well for 2nd graders? I noticed the lowest grade level is 3rd. From the previews I have seen, it doesn't look too difficult for 2nd graders. What is your opinion? Thanks :)

Some of the units may be a little above the curriculum requirements for 2nd, but as we know, it really depends on your students. If what appears in the preview looks appropriate for your kiddos, then definitely try it out! :)

I was wondering if you offered anything where the students practice using/manipulating measurement tools such as a metric ruler, balance scale, beaker, as well as having to follow written directions. I'm looking for something to prepare my students for the manipulative part of our state science test in May. I was hoping to have them practice measurement skills throughout the year

Check out the Introduction to Science Stations. The 8 stations focus on mass, temperature, volume, time, hand lens, length, classifying, and safety. http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Introduction-to-Science-Stations

I see life science vocabulary and earth science vocabulary. How do you use the vocabulary along with the Weekly 5? Also, does the life science vocabulary go along with all the topics covered under life science (food webs, adaptations, etc.)? Earth science, too?? Love your products!

They are separate things. I have used them for review in the past but you can also use them throughout to reinforce vocab.
The life and earth science vocab packets focus on what I feel are the most important words in each area.

OMG I LOVE the Weekly 5 center structure! I'm a bit overwhelmed with the thought of trying to implement this! Students get 15 min. per station per day or 15 min. for 1 station that day and 15 min. for another on the next? Do you have any lessons for Physical Science?

The way I set it up is they do one station per day for 15 minutes. So, during the week they complete all 5 stations. If you want to do more stations per day, that works well too. It just generally takes 15 minutes for each one.
I am going to release some physical science units before school for matter and force and motion. I have one available in my store for light and sound energy. Let me know if you have more questions and I hope this helps.
