Scrambled Sentences #4:Short Vowel a Rhyming Words, Daily 5--This is a great worksheet to use in your Daily 5 or Literacy Word Work Center. I currently use this with my kindergarten students, but have also used this in the past 11 years of teaching with 1st grade, 2nd grade and 4th grade. It is a great "differentiated instruction" tool as you can have students blank boxes at the center so that kids can write in their own adjectives or describing words to glue in right before the noun. I also have students color code the letters in the rhyming words (vowels are traced red, consonants are traced in green), and color code the nouns, pro-nouns, adjectives, etc. Depending on the ability group of your students, it is really open to many possibilities. This is also great for students to keep in their "book boxes" and use at the "read to self" or "read to others" center.
