A Somewhat Melodramatic reader's theater version of the Old testament book of Esther broken into 9 scenes. It has 21 roles with doubling possible.
Haman, the villain plots against Esther, the heroine, and her people to bring the Bible to life in a unique manner. An optional Bible study is included.
Reader's theater is an excellent way to improve reading fluency and reading expression. Multiple readings can be authentically done in the name of performance. Understanding characters flows naturally as well as discussion of literary terms and devices. A two page vocabulary/text talk/ comprehension guide is included so discussion after each scene can help students incorporate new vocabulary into every day usage. The six page Bible study packet will foster discussion and study about Esther and related passages in the Bible. It provides prompts for personal journaling and prayer plus links to online interactive games.
