This is a 250 slide PowerPoint presentation with built-in class notes (red slides), challenge questions with answers, built-in review opportunities, video links, two page homework, answer key, lesson notes and much more.

This PowerPoint begins describing what light is? The answer is confusing, so an alternative definition of an energy wave is used. A picture of an athlete with black marks under his eyes is shown and the students are asked what is the point here? The answer is then revealed and some important notes about how light reflects is provided. Places on Earth where light reflects and is absorbed is described. The need for sunscreen use and sun glasses is advised. Reflectiveness on a surface is covered as well as urban heat index. A light mill is shown. A definition of temperature is provided. Kinetic Molecular Theory is described, the temperature at which water boils, and absolute zero are discussed in a series of slides. Students convert some word problems with the assistance of ghost rider going form F to C and back. Students also play a version of red light green light with absolute zero, warm again. Directions are included. The seasons are then covered in a series of slides. Axial tilt is mentioned, seasons in different parts of the world and much more. Humidity is then addressed and a crushing a can activity is explained which uses humidity / condensation and air pressure. Dew and a sling psychrometer activity with instructions are included. This is a really neat PowerPoint that covers many difficult topics. Please see my entire Weather and Climate Unit on TpT described below before purchasing this PowerPoint.

These PowerPoints are meant to be as interactive as possible and ask many questions, provides built in review opportunities, explain directions to activities, and much more. The answer keys and unit notes are great for support professionals. This Unit is a digital download, but requires that you email me at ryemurf@gmail.com after checkout so I can send it to you through another company because it is too large for the TpT uploader. I use another company called PayLoadz.com which can send large files. TpT only sends me your user name on a digital download good so you will need to contact me with your email address so I can send it to you digitally. The cost of this larger unit is $9.99 The unit takes between 40-60 minutes to download once I have sent it to you but this unit is well worth the wait. Everything arrives in editable format and can be modified to fit any curriculum or time requirement.

Hi, I'm in my first year at a school where we're still trying to pull together our science curriculum. I'm very interested in your materials. From first glance they look very well done. I have a couple of questions. I was first looking at your seasons unit, and saw that to purchase it, I must have a program to open zip files. Could you maybe tell me what sort of program I could use? (I've never been successful in the past with zips.)
Secondly, is there a sample I could look at of your assessments? I'm really hoping for a pre- and post-assessment for each class period. Just wondering what your format is.

Thanks so much!

Dear Monica Ackerson,

Thanks again for your interest. The files are winzip (they have to be if having many files in a folder) and if you go to...

http://www.winzip.com/downse.htm?sc_cid=go_us_b_search_se

You can download the zip extractor for free. My units don't have a pre and post test for daily lessons. Each unit comes with a very challenging and lengthy bundled homework package that follows the slideshow and activities. Each unit has several review games and built-in quizzes. I guess you would have to create your own. The PowerPoint roadmap isn't broken into daily lessons that have a beginning and end. They are chalk full of notes, activities, challenge questions, and many more learning experiences so the days lessons are progressing through the unit. It sounds confusing but is quite easy to run. I'll send you my weather and climate unit to look over. It will arrive to your email shortly. You will need to have a zip extractor. Thanks again for your purchase.

As a note: The entire curriculum that I offer on TpT (4 years, 35,000 slides etc) can be mailed on a 8GB flashdrive which eliminates the zip process. Thanks again.

Sincerely,
Ryan Murphy
