Thank you for putting in the time for this! It's very simple and easy to use.
A few considerations:
*Add additional instructions about the hidden columns & formulas used, so that others can create more classes, etc
*Don't password protect the top row on the Class Lists sheet. I wanted to add additional info so that I could have each chart pull the period, the lunch, class name, etc. Not everyone is on a 1-8 schedule!
*Include variant seating charts, not 8 of the same thing
*Consider instructions, or an example, of participation charts

Thank you for putting in the time for this! It's very simple and easy to use.
A few considerations:
*Add additional instructions about the hidden columns & formulas used, so that others can create more classes, etc
*Don't password protect the top row on the Class Lists sheet. I wanted to add additional info so that I could have each chart pull the period, the lunch, class name, etc. Not everyone is on a 1-8 schedule!

Great resource for teachers who are comfortable with Excel. It took me a while to figure out how to move a student without duplicating and I'm more comfortable with Excel than most of the teachers I work with. I like that the instructions are on the page. It would be nice to be able to keep the borders around the "seats" after moving a student. It does fill a void though, and the price is right!

It doesn't seem to be able to handle more than 30 students or a class setup more than nine students wide. In these days of 35 student class sizes, I need something with that versatility

Trying very hard to get this to work, but reckon my excel knowledge is too limited. Can only get randomizer to operate on first sheet. All the others come up with a dialogue box saying PERSONAL.XLS can not be found. Have I wasted my money? I've already paid twice. So far its been a waste of money. Also page protection is password locked, so I don't seem to be allowed to make changes to try and get it to work better. Rating would be much better if I could get it to work!!

Out of the 38 seats I'm only able to fill 31 of them. The last 7 just don't show up (even though there are more students names on the class lists worksheet. Those remaining 7 cells just have that little green mark in the upper left corner of the cells indicating that the "Formula Refers to Empty Cells".

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have 23 years of experience in the classroom. I've taught Spanish most of my career, with a few years of Language Arts thrown in. I spent 13 years at the middle school level, and am in my 9th year at high school. I love both levels, and often can't believe how lucky I am to be in this profession. I taught a Spanish Teaching Methods course at BYU as an adjunct professor for two semesters, and loved that experience. When I retire from public school, my goal is to get a doctorate and start a second career at the university level.
