This packet is meant to help in the prevention of the summer slide. I included an activity for May 14-31st and every day in June, July, and August, but it could easily be just given for the days that you are actually on break. (I ended the one I sent home on Aug. 21st, as we start back up on the 22nd) I also included the same activities without dates to accommodate teachers that have different breaks, but still would like their students to have a review packet. I included 5 different cover sheets, 2 of which could go one the front of a folder. At the end I included 2 versions of a reading log. I offer an incentive to bring it back completed in the fall, so I included a cover sheet that lets the students know to bring it back. All activities are in the Second Grade Common Core.

are the dates changeable for those AZ schools who let out on May 24th and return on Aug 8th?

There are 2 versions. One that has a date from June until August and another with no dates at the top. I made the one without the dates for schools that needed something other than June-August. I will be updating them (it is on the to-do list) to include a couple weeks of May dates this year because we get out in May as well. So you would be able to download an updated version then. :). Hope that helps!

Teaching has always been in my heart. I have been teaching for the past 18 years and have experience in teaching grades 1-5. I have taught multi-age and looping classrooms as well as traditional classes. I have been lucky that 15 years of my experience has included first grade which is my first love!
