Students will enjoy reading the novel, Seedfolks, by Paul Fleischman. Here you will find a chapter-by-chapter standards-based notes packet that goes along with the novel for students to complete as they read and analyze the 13 character stories throughout the book. Topics on the note sheets include characterization, mood, tone, conflict, theme, irony, resolution, etc. (This notes packet is also sold in my "Seedfolks Novel Unit" which includes several other assignment in a culminating project.)
This is a great unit! I am able to use all of it with my students, which is great because this is the first time I've used this novel with my classes. I really wish the copy was more crisp, if that makes sense. When downloaded and printed, it comes out a little blurry. It's a minor issue, and everything is still totally readable though. Overall, I am glad I found this unit! Thank you!

I downloaded several Seedfolks packets and like this one the best. My only suggestion is I would love to have suggested answers. But I think this material is far better than what I used last year and plan to start this novel this month. I am excited. Thanks!

I have used this resource with my 7th grade class. The students were SO responsive to it! The packet format made it super easy for me. Even my most struggling students performed very well with this unit!
