This worksheet could be used with virtually any unit. I use it with my bat unit in October. We read fiction and nonfiction books about bats. We first do a connection sheet together on a book that I've chosen. Then, I put the students in partners. They choose a book and fill out the sheet together. Once I think they have a good understanding of all three connections, I release the responsibility to them and they fill one out independently. Then we share them and discuss how our connections are different based on whether the book was fiction or nonfiction.
