This quiz covers the different types of sentences (interrogative, imperative, exclamatory and declarative). It also asks whether the sentence is simple, compound or complex. Another section asks students to say whether a sentence is complete or a fragment. As an added step, they can identify the subject and verb. Finally, there are some questions about sentences to check student knowledge. This quiz is split into different sections with a clear set of directions at the heading of each. An answer key is included.
I have a Common Core aligned sentences unit that goes along with this quiz - you can find it here if you are interested!
I'm a Teacher Aide working with a small group and this will be a great help. They have given me an idea to use with my group - I can enlarge them, cut into strips and they can draw the sentence out of a container to answer. Then the group can discuss and decide if it is the correct answer. Thank you so much.

This is my 8th year of teaching. Six of these years have been teaching science and language arts. I spent seven years teaching 5th grade (which I loved!) Now, I am the junior high literacy teacher!
