A high quality activity for your Spanish students that helps your students understand SENTENCE STRUCTURE!
Sentence Strips are hands on; a tactile way of practicing sentence structure in a foreign language classroom.
I call them "sentence strips," because each packet consists of strips of color-coded pieces of paper with different sentence elements provided for students to generate sentences. Of course, you can call them whatever you like. :D
I copy off the different color-coded elements, cut the pieces out, and place them into envelopes. I label the envelopes so I can keep them to use again the following year.
These Sentence Strips are handy because you can use them as an in-class activity, but if a student is absent when you use them, you can let them take home an envelope to make up the activity.
So, each envelope should include:
- 1 set of Instrucciones
- 1 set of Subjects
- 1 set of Extras
The students will use these elements plus the verb "poder" conjugated correctly to create original sentences. But with this activity, they can place all of the parts of the sentence in front of them on their desk & use another part of their brain to study Spanish.
