This thematic unit is designed to teach the simple shapes: square, circle, triangle, rectangle, oval, diamond (rhombus), and others. Have the students become familiar with these shapes by making a shape mobile, shape paper bag puppets, shape bulletin board border and even a shape necklace! Other art activities include shape people with fan-folded arms and legs, plus a funny shape clown.

Language arts projects include a shape cover for a writing journal, flash cards with the names and pictures of shapes and special frames for drawing shapes. The reproducible mini-book features cartoon shape people with houses that fit their distinctive shapes. Certificates are also included to reward your students once they can name all of the shapes!

Math activities include a shape graph, a shape numberline and more! Your students will love the shape Flip Booklet that, in addition to featuring the shapes, teaches some basic sight words!
