I used this project with my honors class. I split everyone up into 5 groups, and each group reads a different short story. The ones I used are listed on the sheet, but you could easliy use other stories. After reading the story and discussing it together, the students write a literary analysis on their own, focusing on what the literary elements helped us understand about the story.

I have worked with a number of grades, between the regular school year and summer school, including 6th - 12th grade. I originally started with an elementary background, and so I have some elementary materials as well. For the past few years, I moved up to higher education, teaching at a community college.
