This is a set of four concentration-style card games designed to reinforce the short vowel sounds of a, e, and i. Students will learn how to differentiate among these sounds as they match easily recognizable pictures of common objects with the correct vowel. The download provides you with the templates you need to create the games, as well as the directions for playing them. These games can help the teacher introduce the short vowel sounds, and when children are able to play the games independently, they can be part of a literacy center. The games are easy for kids to set up and put away as well. These reading games can be a terrific teaching tool for phonics instruction. Enjoy them!
