Do you need materials to help your students master short vowel sounds? This 175-page packet of materials may be the answer!!
This packet focuses on all 5 short vowel sounds; there are many activities to provide students opportunities to read, write, and spell words with short vowel sounds.
There are numerous activities for each short vowel; here is a quick summary of what is included for each vowel!!
For each vowel, there are 3 or 4 pages where students will practice reading words with that particular vowel. Students will read the word in the box. They then cut out the pictures and glue the matching picture in the box.
For each vowel, there are 3 or 4 pages where students will work on writing words using that vowel, with the support of sound boxes. Students will segment the sounds in the word and write the letters in the sound boxes.
For each vowel, there are 3 pages on which students will write six words without the support of sound boxes. After writing the words, they will use one of the words to write a sentence.
For each vowel, there are 14 pages with reading passages to use in whole group instruction. They can be printed or projected for shared reading.
Finally, for each vowel, there is a printable little book of the reading passages; these can be used in guided reading groups or for independent practice.
These packets are available to purchase individually; however, they are bundled together here in one file at a discounted price!! These resources have been extremely helpful in my kindergarten classroom as my students become stronger readers and writers; I hope you feel the same!!
