This listing is for a pack of 3 dominoes games that are perfect for Word Work or literacy centers or rotations.
You play these games like dominoes - you match one side of the card to the opposite side of another card. For these games, students match words that have the same phonogram/word family - so they are rhyming words.
Set 1 has a circus theme with short vowel CVC and VCC words.
Set 2 has a leap frog theme with short vowel words with blends and digraphs.
Set 3 has long vowel words with blends and digraphs on most cards as well. This one has a beach froggy theme.
These games are great for students to practise simple decoding, word families, short and long vowels, blends and digraphs!
What is great about these games is that once they know how to play one game, kiddos only need a simple intro to another set and they are ready to play - saves times providing instructions on how to play a new game.
You can also use them for spelling practise - after playing the game, I have my students use their little whiteboards to spell a word their partner reads out to them and swap.
I've got a number of other sets for literacy and maths listed in more store such as:
Language Arts Dominoes
- for antonyms, synonyms, homophones, contractions and compound words.
Under the Sea Tens and Ones Place Value Dominoes
Pirates HTO Place Value Dominoes
What's the Time Mr Alligator Time Dominoes
- reinforce time to the hour, half-past, quarter past and till and to five minutes.
