While students read the first Wayside School book entitled Sideways Stories From Wayside School, students write down information about each of the students and teachers described in the school. After finishing the novel, students use adjectives to describe the type of ice cream flavor they would be (like Maurecia). Students also use a Venn Diagram to compare and contrast themselves to one of the characters, then write why the think they are most like that character.
Kids love this book, and because there are several more in the series, students start picking up books for FUN!!
