Each deck consists of 30 pairs of cards dealing with Sound concepts. Players take turns asking each other for a card to complete their pair. The winner is the person who collects the most number of pairs.

I am a teacher in the Prince William County Public School System in Northern Virginia. I'm very excited about several card games I invented to help students learn about basic science concepts related to the Rock Cycle, Sound, Matter, Kingdoms of living things, and Vertebrates/Invertebrates. These games are very easy to play and can be played in a short period of time. They can be used as a hands-on tool to complement a science unit. They are also the perfect, fun, quick way to review before state exams. Each card is plastic coated for durability. For the visual learner, actual photographs reinforce the concepts presented.

Additional features:

No set-up time required. Just deal the cards and play.

Students can play independently. Cards are colored coded to ensure that the correct card is played at the right time.

Limited time? Great for those 10 extra minutes. Perfect for students who finish an assignment early, or as a reward at the end of a good day.

High Quality. Each card is plastic coated for durability. Actual photographs are used to enhance learning.

Created by a teacher. Used successfully in the classroom with real students. They love them!!

For 2 to 6 players

Concepts included:
Sound is a form of energy.
Something must vibrate to have sound.
Sound travels fastest through solids.
Sound travels slowest through air.
Sound travels through a gas slowest, liquid faster, and solid fastest.
Sound cannot travel through a vacuum such as outer space.
Sound waves.
Crest, trough

The faster the vibration, the higher the frequency.
Pitch is the highness or lowness of a sound.
The number of vibrations per second is called frequency.
Hertz (Hz) is the unit to measure frequency.
Volume is how loud or soft a sound is.
Decibel (dB) is the unit to measure volume.
Sonar is used by ships to map the ocean floor.
Radar is used by ships, planes, police, and the weather service.
A reflected sound wave is called an echo.
Bats and dolphins use echolocation.
The hole in the guitar lets sound resonate.
The further you are from the sound, the harder it is to hear.
The closer you are to the sound, the louder it is.
Speech happens when out vocal cords vibrate.
Bells, whistles, and sirens capture our attention for warning or safety.
High pitch, high frequency
Low pitch, low frequency
Long or wide = low pitch. Short or thin = high pitch
To make a rubber band's pitch higher, stretch it.
Long column of air = low pitch. Short column of air = high pitch.

Hello, On my website, www.thomasleanne.com I give a volume discount for orders of 10 decks or more of any kind. But buying though TpT I have already discounted the price by more than half. So sorry, no there is no volume discount here. Thank you for asking. I hope you will still consider buying. I think you will find them well worth the money.

I would really like to have these cards for my grade three classroom. I do live in Canada, so does this shipping include Canada?

Hoping it does:)
Thanks,

Ashley

How many decks are you interested in so I can check on the price to mail them. When do you need them by and where in Canada do you live? I may be traveling to Toronto within the next month and could perhaps mail them from there.
