Here's a hands-on, creative way for your students to practice identifying similes, metaphors, and alliteration within sentences! This is an engaging activity where your students read the sentences on 20 superhero "shields". They identify whether the sentence is a simile (belonging to Sammy Simile), a metaphor (belonging to Missy Metaphor), or whether it contains alliteration (belonging to Alex Alliteration). The finished products make a unique bulletin board or fun school hallway display!
This product also includes THREE BONUS TEACHING POSTERS (one for each type of figurative language). The posters explain the analogy of the superheroes, and explains how similes, metaphors, and alliteration can come and "rescue" a boring sentence by making it more interesting.
Finally, this product contains an interactive notebook entry that matches the craftivity!

Student-friendly directions are included so that you can place the directions under your document camera, and students can refer to them as they complete the project. (An answer key is also included.)
