Many teachers simply fingerspell words as a test. That is fine for the first test, but after that, having fingerspelled words embedded in sentences help students watch and learn fingerspelling in a more natural linguistic way. Here are 6 fingerspelling tests. The first test is 10 words that are 3 letters each, and the next 5 are simple sentences based on signs students learn during ASL 1.
