This is a 22 slide powerpoint slideshow that I designed to use for whole class instruction. The slides contain effects so that you can ask students question and then the answers will appear.
The slide show begins by introducting slope intercept form.
Next, it demonstrations how to write an equation in slope intercept form given a slope and y-intercept. From there it shows how to change equations from Standard form into slope intercept form. Lastly, it shows how to graph equations in slope intercept form.
At each several points in the presentation, examples are given and then slowly solved step-by-step so that students can offer their input as to how to solve.
I have used this with students as all levels (honors thru inclusion) in grades 7 , 8, and 9 and have had great success with it.
I'd never taught slope before, and teach high school students with learning disabilities. This pwrpt. was a really great way to slowly ease us into the concept. Broken down into small chunks of learning and perfect for us.
Thank you! I teach Middle School inclusion classes so I try to break things down into small chucks and be as to the point as possible. I hope it works well with your students.
Happy Teaching!
