This is an activity that I used with my Gate students, but is good for all classrooms. You divide your class into pairs and then have them create a circle with chairs(chairs facing in) one person sits on the chair and the other stands behind the chair. They discuss a topic, usually some sort of ethical issue (kids love ethical issues)the inner circle (the students in the chairs) discuss first as the outer circle just listens. They discuss for about 15-30 minutes and then switch. They fill out the form while they are listening and at the end of the Socratic Circle. Some topics for discussion could be "Is it ever okay to Lie?", "Philosophy for Kids" is a great book for topic ideas.
